Spring Presentation 2

On April 13, 2016, the team presented on the progress made in the project. We have flatten some copper wires and bent all of the PVC pipes for the curves. We found that there is a problem with our show collector. We had it designed to stay static, we found that we need our shoe collector to be dynamic as the boggie follows the track along the turns and inclines/declines.

Spring Presentation 1

On Wednesday, March 9, 2016, our team presented on our final design for the quarter scale Spartan Superway. We were originally focusing our efforts on the 1/12th scale in the fall, now we will be scaling up the design. We have begun experimenting with ways to bend PVC pipes for the enclosure of the wayside rail. In the presentation that can be viewed in the link below, we show what we have done so far, our current schedule, our predicted costs, about $530, and a few dependable or exposures that we may encounter.

Presentation 3 Fall 2015

Below is the link for presentation 3, where we discuss the project, prime design, functionality, fabrication, testing plans, cost analysis, and the schedule and plans for next semester.

We approximated that we would need to spend about $451.00 for materials and fabrication for the wayside rail for the small scale. It may be slightly more, because we plan to 3-D print some components, and may have to look into outside sources because of the time it takes to 3-D print parts.
